To learn piano can be as simple as do-re-mi

Posted by Guest on July 3rd, 2009

If you are beginning to learn how to play piano, the following suggestions will be most invaluable .

Ask around or go to your local university to find references for a  qualified teacher that can guide you in your goal to learn piano.

The right instructor can guide you and show you how to set goals and reach them. They will encourage you and monitor your progress.

Online programs to learn piano can also be an admirable way to start.

While it is true that one can learn a great deal by ear, you will make much faster progress with exceptional instruction and you will learn the right way.

You will find performers that cannot read music, but these are often very talented natural musicians and I suppose even they might wish they had learned more about the written form of music.

The use of instruction will allow you to become a trained pianist in a much shorter time.

It is probably not the best idea to use a friend who plays piano to instruct your child; they may or may not be a qualified teacher and it may strain your relationship.

It is much harder to unlearn a bad habit than to learn it correctly the first time. Go with a qualified teacher.

Your child will most likely not benefit from a friend or a relative instructing them as much as a professional. You will be less inclined to criticize the teaching methods of the teacher because you have to get along with them in your daily life. If you hire a professional it is their job so it is understood there will be some give and take between you and them.

In order to  be a better pianist or singer or songwriter you must practice. It is that simple

Many people take up an instrument and fail to make the commitment and practice as they should and they never reach the level they had envisioned.

The more you can practice the piano without overdoing it, the better. Try for 20 minutes at a time, several times a day at first.

It is better to be fully centered when you practice.

If you do not warm up properly you will not be happy with your progress and you may even injure yourself.

It helps to give yourself goals to strive for every day; these goals should be measurable and attainable.

The goals will be dictated by your level of skill and will be set by your teacher or curriculum.

It is important when you learn how to play piano to work on sight reading skills and reading music.

If you read about the composer you are playing, you will better understand their personality and their life and be able to interpret their music more authentically.

The skills a new pianist needs to learn piano will not come over night , so keep at it and do not give up. You can do it.

Love Story is Taylor Swift’s Tribute To Young Love

Posted by Stevie Clark on July 3rd, 2009

For a young singer/songwriter, Taylor Swift has managed to do an outstanding feat in the music scene. She was able to establish a big name for herself in such a short time. Now, this young girl is not only a country superstar, she also managed to bad an Album of the Year award at the Academy of Country Music, something her older colleagues would’ve died to get.

When her single Love Story became another hit, Taylor Swift proved yet once again that she is a certified country hit maker. She has always shown great potential even when she first broke out in the music scene. An artist who writes her own songs and plays the guitar, she is a certified country star.

Love Story is from the Fearless album. It talks about a young forbidden love. In it, the girl (obviously Taylor since she tells her story through her songs) is struggling to be with her Romeo which her daddy doesn’t approve of. She sings about going somewhere they can be alone; where she will be the princess and he, the prince.

She narrates how she met Romeo at a dance, where he made his way through a crowd just to say hello to her. Since Daddy doesn’t want her to be with Romeo, she sneaks out to the garden to rendezvous with her love and begs him not to go away.

The forbidden love was too much to bear for Juliet because people were telling her how she should feel. But despite all that, she remains hopeful and faithful to their love for each other. But as every deep feelings are meant to end up, Juliet started to lose faith in the love because she got tired of waiting for Romeo.

Using the characters of the classic Shakespearian play Romeo and Juliet was a wise move for the singer/songwriter. This made the song more appealing to the audience because they will be able to understand the song better. Who doesn’t know the tragic story of Romeo and Juliet? Alluding the characters of this classic added more appeal to the story of the song. It adds to the aesthetic value of the song.

However, it doesn’t matter if you relate to the message of the song clearly or not. This is one of the case where you take a song in its entireity. It’s undeniable, the song sounds great. Good writing combined with great melody and interpretation.

Taylor Swift has written a very nice song, accompanied it with great, catchy music, and sang it with the gusto of a young girl who is in love. Nothing can be better than that.

The Deep End of the Sea: Persuasively performed adaptation of Jacquelyn Mitchard’s best seller in reference to the disappearance of a 3 year old at his mommy’s high school reunion, and his possibile return 9 years later. I hope you enjoyed the reviews. Internet searches like “Free Online Movie Streaming” and “Music Videos To Download” will help you find film download sites. Add “DVD Rental Movies” to the list if the other searches don’t work for you.

If you want to start downloading movies, find the right site by searching “Download Psp Movie”. Watch Movies For Without Download What makes a movie download legal? The best way to compare movie download sites is to search “Movie Download Service” in Google.

Making your own guitar -remember these points

Posted by Guest on July 1st, 2009

So, your obsessed with guitars to an almost unhealthy point - there the first and last thing you think about during the day. Every time you dont play you get shakes and you’ve stopped eating because food money needs to go towards buying your guitar’ve sto. But you want to now have a go at building your own axe -so just what do you have to consider when making one?

  • The cost. This isnt going to be cheap -you’ve got to consider the prices of the wood for the body and the neck, the pickups, the electronics if your building an electric guitar,  this is going to be pricey for you. Then there is the tools you are going to need for the job, cutting out the bodies shape is going to require specialist tools.
  • Practice. If your not naturally good with using tools or have never done this before, i recommend having a bit of practice. In whatever you do you wont be amazing straight away, and if you start on expensive wood, any mistakes you make can be costly to your wallet. So by practicing on cheaper wood will save you time and if you make a mistake, its all part of the learning experience. Once you get to the point of making you guitar, all the practice will pay off.
  • Wiring. Mainly a concern for the electric guitar builders, because once the woodwork is done your going to have to deal with the electrics. Electrocution can be a risk here, so making sure the wiring has been done correctly is vital. Always have a qualified electrician take alook at your work before you put it into the guitar just to be sure.

These are just a few things to consider, but if thats too much work you can always just buy electric guitars from these guys.

Learn By Ear - How To Play The Piano

Posted by Guest on July 1st, 2009

Training your ear may sound like a strange phrase to use, but as the human ear is mostly muscle it can be treated in much the same way as any other muscle in the human body - the more you train it the stronger it gets.

For some people, playing the piano by ear comes quite naturally - they know as soon as they hear a particular series of notes or chords how that combination was played and where the persons hands were on the keyboard. By hearing the same piece of music over and over again you will find it much easier to recognise. Think of it like training a dog - the more you shout a command at the dog, the more it gets used to hearing it and what the necessary response is.

The majority of car horns are tuned to a major third, and a great way of demonstrating how you can train your ear is to listen for them. If you listen to nothing but major thirds for two days straight (for example C and E or F and A), the next time you hear a car horn you would immediately recognise the sound!

If you can identify a train whistle as producing a tritone portamento descending, then do you see how easy it would be to learn to play the piano by ear? It can be done, and it can be done relatively easily. Train whistles, car horns, even tannoy announcements! Once your ear is actually trained to identify these certain sounds, you’ll be amazed at how much you recognise them as they occur everyday life all around you.

First of all - you have to listen to the sounds. It can be difficult to find a friend who doesn’t mind playing the same chords over and over again whilst you listen, so the best solution to this that we have found is get hold of a tape recorder, and record the music. If you can find a recorder with a numerical counter on it, all the better, as you are then able to rewind to any specific spot you like.

You might also want to think about chord progressions as well - they can be a bit more fun than the melodic intervals, and tend to keep you a little more engaged. Most piano teachers, when teaching, prefer to begin with melodic intervals such as skips of a major third or a perfect sixth, so this is a reasonable place for you to start also.

There’s no reason that you cannot do it yourself - learning to play the piano could not be simpler! Training your ear to recognize specific sounds and thus transferring them onto the piano is a time-honored tradition that has served many people well in the past. It can be done, and it can be done relatively simply!
